Cat Girl Dances a Go-Go

Post by neeters_guy »

Here is Neeters Miao, another character from my small press comic -- hey, neeters -- dancing the Khaki a-go-go from a Gap commercial some years ago.

Neeters Miao Dances Khaki a-go-go

Comments on the design or animation are welcome as usual.

Looks GREAT! One little picky comment -- in the latter half of the dance, a bit of movement of the head would have made it complete for me. Really nice movement; did you rotoscope anything?
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

According to video info:
The song and dance was rotoscoped from the Gap commercial Khaki a-go-go (the dance is based on Bob Fosse's choreography from Sweet Charity).

Wow! So good!
She's also pretty.

Where you found the example model for the breasts? The movement are very good!
Sorry for my bad english... Q_Q

Jahnocli, thanks for the suggestion. The head and facial expressions were the last things I worked on and I was so tired by then, I only added a little wave and smile just to finish it. I intend to spend more time on the head motions on future projects.

I matched the bones against a video reference frame by frame, so I guess that's close to rotoscoping. It's a great time saver (as Bakshi knew), but it tends to lack dynamism. The source video is actually more vibrant than my animation.

Imago, thank you for the compliment. Regarding breasts, um, there's plenty of references on the internet. :) Actually, I only added breast movement in the jump rope sequence and you can hardly see it. The rest were straight switch interpolations.

Cute girl.

First half is awesome but the last 9 seconds seems kinda stiff and unbalanced.
