I produced an animation for the Fox/Aniboom holiday animation contest. This is a short "trailer" for a longer format storyline that I have in mind.

I'll take the first stab at deprecation. While I spent most of the production time painting the backgrounds I left myself with little time for animating it. The stiff and awkward movements really detract from it. There are also a few scenes where the character drawings could be vastly improved. I thought the gags would play-out much funnier, but they fall a bit flat.

This was my first time using AS. Backgrounds were painted in Photoshop, and editing/mixing was done in Sony Vegas.

I didn't spend much time crafting the perfect rig for the characters and this bit me in the ass later as I ended up doing a lot of point animation cleanup.

Anyway, a lot was learned from this, so the next will be better.

Looked good to me! The only joke that fell a bit flat for me was the "fire at will" one because they did similar one on an old episode of G.I. Joe.

Yeah, everything that isn't animated looks good...I'd be interested in seeing more, though, which I always take to be a positive sign!
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
