Talking Head Image

Post by Smoof nickel »

Hello again, I wanted to know if it was possible on Anime Studio Pro 5, If you could take an image of a real person and Cut out the mouth area so that you could make a separation, of the mouth and head so that you could make a funny way of making a persons head talk.. I'm aware that there is a tutorial that comes along with Anime Studio on Help, that deals with moving parts of the mouth to make a different sort of effect.. The look I'm shooting to get at is not having the mouth connected with the rest of the head. Thanks ahead of time.

Have a look at this example:

You need to prepare your images in Photoshop or any other bitmap application before you could import the parts into AS. In this case I use a single photograph of Our Beloved Leader and prepared these parts:
- background with body
- head
- jaw
- left hand
- right hand

Cut out each part and paste it into its own file, switch off the background layer, export as a PNG with transparency. You might have noticed that I painted over some parts, to complete the seat behind her, and to close the gap where her jaw was.

After you imported all those image layers into AS, proceed as usual with bone rigging and stuff.

In programs like motion, or AE, you can use the audio level to change the position of a layer (like the lower jaw cut out here).

Is this only possible with a bone in AS?
