Sea of Idiots Episode 2

Post by b15fliptop »

We've been gone for a bit, but we're back with episode 2, called The Double Date. This time around, instead of weekly 2 or 3 minute segments, we're doing 8 to 10 minute segments, every other week.

I think the new episode is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous stuff, but I guess that's up to the viewers to decide!

In the interim, we were written up in TimeOut London magazine. They did a short piece to recommend us to their readers. It's up on the website.

As always, you can watch the episode at www.seaofidiots.com OR on YouTube at www.youtube.com/seaofidiots OR in iTunes by searching the iTunes store for Sea of Idiots.

How have I missed this show up until now? GENIUS!

I love the look of your site as well, I see you've used two different hosts for your video - any preference for one or the other?

Thanks, guys! I think this latest episode is the best stuff yet, but I say that every time.

Unfortunately, there will be a bit of a wait for the rest of the episode. We're working on an unrelated short that has to be done in a few weeks, so we won't be able to finish this one until the other is complete. I'll post it here as well.

Dan, we used to post in a few different sites, but the only ones that really get any hits are YouTube and Blip.TV. Blip is BY FAR the best. We have over 30,000 views on Blip because they distribute to other sites, including iTunes. I highly recommend them to anyone trying to get an audience.

Thanks again!

Hey there, it's me again (i asked you about what mac pro you have, bla bla bla).

Just being critical, I don't particularly like how it drags on for 4 minutes at the start, with the two of them arguing about nothing. No offense, it just annoys me when TV shows (not just yours, there are a lot of others out there, Family Guy in particular) that just sit there and stay there talking.

Though I do like the other parts of your show. I especially liked the first episode. Is it possible if you could post the whole 21-minute thing on the internet? Or if you don't thats cool XD hehe

Hope you get your show picked up as a series, as I will watch it over here in Australia :P. I just have some questions - what was your budget on the first episode, and the ones thereafter? If you did get your series picked up, would you create episodes as you do it now, or would you do it with a team of like... 50? iunno, something like that :S also Would you continue using anime studio or something like maya? would you ever create a feature-length film? thanks for reading my random crap!

Fair enough. The goofy dialogue is actually our favorite part, but I realize it's not going to be for everyone.

If you go to www.seaofidiots.com there is a post there with a playlist that will play the entire first episode, in sequence. I've heard that one or two segments load really slowly though. Not sure if that's a problem with the playlist, or what. I'll look into it.

The budget was just what the 'puter and software cost.

I guess that would be up to anyone foolish enough to give us a TV show.

Again, no idea. I like ASP, but it's the only program I have personal experience with. I would rather that a grass shack full of Korean's did it under constant threat of death or dismemberment. You know, like Family Guy.

People would have to start watching the short episodes for me to justify that kind of work. Not likely anytime soon.
