Fading out

Post by kettricken »

Hello again,

I'm trying to animate some basic ripples spreading out and fading away, but I can't work out hoe to get them to fade. They're just simple unfilled vector circles on a greenscreen background, nothing fancy - can anyone tell me hoe to get them to fade from 100% to invisible over the space of 30 frames?

Thanks a lot

I assume you are uing 5.6 Pro? You don't say...Anyway, transparency is an animatable feature. Make a key frame where you want the transparency effect to start, advance 30 frames, and set transparency to 100 or whatever. Sit back and watch...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

I'm actually using Debut (the latest one). I've tried adjusting the layer opacity, but that doesn't seem to work; I'm not sure how to alter the transparency. Any hints?

Layer opacity does work, but you must render the file before you can see any effect.

Finally got it - had to turn on the 'allow animated layer effects'. Thanks for all the help :)
