Animating over live action footage

Post by kettricken »

Hi there,

I'm new to all this, so sorry if this is an obvious question!

I have an AVI file, rendered with Adobe After Effects, that I want to add animations onto, in Anime Studio Debut.

I've imported the video clip fine, but it now won't let me make a vector layer, or draw anything on pre-existing vector layers.

So, what have I done/ am I doing wrong? Can someone give me a tip here?

Thanks for your help :)

I have never used the video option in AS myself but is the video layer above the vector layer? You may just have to reorder the layers.

You cant draw on the video layer. If you want to make a drawing you must ad a new vector layer.
The vector layer must be above the video layer.

Try using some masking, i have AS Pro, so i don't know if masking is avalivable in AS Debut.

I've did this only one time, and here is what i got:

Hmm...if you're using version 6 then you can try going into the preferences and unchecking 'draw only on frame 0'

Otherwise try creating a vector layer or drawing on on on frame 0.
