Is it possible to connect to different drawings at different frames? For example, I want to change a square into a circle. Can I draw a square first, go to a different frame, and then remove square and add a circle. Is it possible to connect the two drawings so that the square can morph into a circle?
if possible, I would like to apply this technique to character animation. I wouldn't have to draw frame by frame when a character's head turns, right? (although it may look weird or unproportional)
Connecting two separate drawings

No, you can't transform a draw in another. Not in that way.
You can draw a circle and, moving the same points, transform it to a square.
You can't have completely different drawings interpolating between, It will be always the same points of a drawing moving and transforming the shape in another.
Now, if you want to simulate a complex morph, you will have to be ingenious. Take a look on this example

A girl transforms into a cat. Girl and cat are totally different layers, there is actually no blend, just points moving and fade between two draws to give the sensation of morphing.
Most of things on animation are actually not happening, just giving the sensation it happens.
