Automatic Lip-Synch test in ASPro6

Post by Mikdog »

So I tried a little test with the automatic lip-synching in ASPro 6. Results weren't bad at all. Could use some tweaking, but for the most part, when I entered text in the audio's dialog box, it pretty much did the job. For a large project where there's lots of dialogue and where time is an issue, this could be a great time-saver. You'd have to go in and tweak the keyframes a little bit afterwards, but for a start its pretty schweet.

Also, when doing this, I recommend FIRST typing in the dialogue in the audio file and then in the switch mouth layer choosing the audio file as reference. Because I had to delete the audio file and re-import it when I did it the other way around. What I'm saying is the keyframes don't seem to notice that you've changed the entered text or you've now typed in the text. Once you've chosen the audio file for the mouth, no matter what changes you make to the text thereafter, the mouth will be set on keeping the settings as they were the first time you entered them.

Here it is:

Drew it really quickly with a laptop trackpad and added a mouth from the library. The rap I used is part of a MacDonald's Rap on YouTube. Its hilarious, I recommend watching it. I've learned the whole rap and say it lots with my buddy in public places, usually when we're drunk.

p.s. I too have a craving for the number 9 like my shoe... uh... but I wear 10.

Hey good one Mikdog :)

Yeah....I really love the auto lipsync in AS6. It's a real time saver....so what if you have to go in and hand tweak a couple things ;) Makes life a whole lot easier in my book!

I'm disappointed. You can't cut and past into the text box. That means I have to retype everything twice. The text and phonemes don't show up on the time line.
With Pagagayo I got 90% and only had to tweak it once imported. I don't think I will be using this feature unless it a real short sound. Like two to four words.

Mikdog, I enjoy your work but that was an awful lipsync. I know it was just using AS's automatic lipsync but that's not something I would promote.

I always find it best to scrub the audio and do it by hand. Looking forward to some of your better work. ;)

Have you tried "ctrl v" to paste and "ctrl x" to cut?
It works for me.
