Exporting your animation
Elsewhere on the forum I've noticed people saying it is best to export animations as PNG or BMP image sequences rather than quicktime/flash etc- is there any particular reason for this?
Several reasons.
First if anything goes wrong you can pick up the rendering at the point it stopped. Sometimes if a render "stops" or the application crashes while rendering to a QT or AVI the whole thing is lost.
Better image quality. More versatility. With an image sequence the images can be imported into any video editing program. You don't have to worry about codecs, or compression. You start with the best quality.
Less "overhead". Probably not a big issue but rendering to a video format means there are system resources being used other than AS. To render to QT then QT is used to "squish" each frame. AS doesn't do this it uses QT. However AS also uses QT for image layers so not so much of a big deal. The other areas are more important.
