Hey guys. I haven't really made myself known, mostly because I've only recently purchased AS Pro, and have only played around with it a bit to get my feet wet.
I was considering using the rotation options to create 3D sets to "shoot my scenes" on, but what I was wondering was this:
Say you have a ground plane (your floor). Not all ground planes are going to be flat like a floor, but bumpy like a hillside. I know I saw an example in AS's library of this sort of thing being done (the paper and ghost ANME project). What I couldn't figure out was how to grabs sections of the ground plane and pull them around. I've tried plotting points on the ground plane to do that, but I could only transform those points and the edges associated with them; it wasn't affecting the ground plane at all.
Is there another way I can go about this?

Hey, I don't think I'd ever looked at that file. Maybe it's just been too long.
To see how that's done just select a frame that shows the paper 'warped'. Using the orbit view tool, you can pivot around to see that it is only an illusion. The paper is always on a flat plane.
If you select the paper layer, you'll see the point motion keyframes for that warping.

If I understand you correctly, you want to pull up the "center" or inside of a vector shape.
Sorry dude. vectors are always "flat". They can be rotated in 3D space but there are no points "inside" the shape to be pulled out. They are flat on the z axis. A bumpy ground plane needs to be create by using "illusion" and the eye trickery of 2d animation.
Having said that you could import a 3D obj file as a layer for characters to walk on. This would have to be created in another 3D application, but heck... that would be more trouble than it's worth in my opinion. 3D layers do not work the same as vector layers.
