Hello Antonin

Nive demoreel, nicelly paced.

You worked on the Reine Soleil trailer, you also worked on the Mr Bean animated?

Some really cool stuff on it, getting the full quality one as I write this.

I think you can post a highrez as well on youtube, not really sure though!

Cheers

Is it just me, or does it also seem to others that the 2D animation here tends to have more visual power than 3D?

What I mean is: for 3D to really compete in this day and age, don't you almost need to have the resources of a major studio?

Whereas, a small outfit can turn out really compelling 2D?

This is a vast debate, 2D or 3D, that is not the question.

To me, 3D is a great media, but it requires many technical skills and beefy rendering ressources.

Drawing is an intuitive process, from your brain, to your hand to the media, while 3D involves many conceptual aspects(design, modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering, compositing etc.)

A single Softimage shot may take hours to render at 1920X1080 on our renderfarm(14 rackmounted double dual core xeon) at work while a complete ASPro scene takes minutes, sometimes seconds to render on a single dual core computer.
The whole 3D concept makes it way less intuitive, unless you are a big budget studio it is hard to convey strenght in 3D, from our experience at least!

Hi,
For me 3D is just another 2D layer in my composite, the end result is always 2dimensional, Graphic design is the power, and the power of good selection of colors make these animation strong. So I belive that Creativitiy and Style will always define good picture..
