How do I save a layer in a file?

Post by RandleSR39 »

Hi. I'm new here and i was just wondering if anybody knew how to save layers in a file so that you can use them in a different animation. Or do you just: Open file with layers, Save As new animation, then continue from there? Please help :D

I don't know if there is a way to do this in Anime Studio, but you can:
Step one: Make all the layers except the one you want to save not visible.
Step two: If you need to render the image (if you need to see dradients or somthing.
Step three: Hit the print screen button on yor keyboard. (Look up and to the right.)
Step four: Open MS paint
Step five in MS paint click Edit>Paste
Step six: Save (PNG is best)
Step seven: Open somthing litke Photoshop or Paint.net
Step eight: Make the background transperent like normal.
If you do this, You can't edit points any more, so.

A little bit of the blurry eyed leading the blind there. :D

If you use File>Import>Anime Studio Object you can import any top level grouping layer (group, bone, particle, or switch). Just select the file you want to import part of and select the layer you want imported.

I don't follow. The AS file contains all the animation. So what exactly are you needing to do? :?: :?

File>Import>Anime Studio Object.

Like I said above, this let's you import any top level layer from an AS file. So if the whole project is in one group layer, you'd be importing the whole thing.

You may want to review the help.
Anime Studio Object
This command will ask you to choose a Anime Studio project file. Once you've chosen a file, a list of layers in the project will show up in the dialog.

Select one of the layers to add it to your own project (a preview of the selected layer appears on the right side of the dialog). The entire layer will be copied into your open project, including any animation in the layer. This is an easy way to share objects between project files and reuse bits of animation here and there.

I've done the instructions above to inport a previous layer used in another animation. It comes up in my layer box at the bottom right but it doesn't appear in my animation, how do i get it to show up?

Thanks

Only two way that a layer doesn't show up that I can think of.
1)Layer visibility is off.
2)You imported some where down the time line and it not visible until you are at the point of import.
