Timmy the TV needs your votes!
Hello my friends! My timmy the tv video is one of the top 5 finalists in the DTV video contest on youtube. Please visit this link and follow the instructions to vote:
http://www.dtvtransition.org/vote/
Please give "Timmy the TV" the highest rating you can, and rate the other 4 down the lowest you can. Timmy really needs a new friend- and a new plasma tv would be the bestest friend of all!

Watched all 5. Couldn't believe how bad the first 4 were - one began promisingly but then nosedived into the nasty stuff.
Absolutely no contest as far as I can see - voted you WAY above the others in the 1st two categories, and best of the 5 in the final category.

Once, I saw myself in a mirror.
Or did I?

Thanks guys- I really hope I win- but I think I'm behind in votes for some reason, because all the other videos have been linked from the voting site much more than mine- which means they're being viewed more (although I have more overall views on youtube).
So- if you guys really think it deserves to win- please help me get as many people to vote as you can. I need to stay away from voter-based contests really- but oh well it was fun to make even if I don't win
If it does win the blu-ray player is going to my voice actor Greg Neff- he did a great job. (he was actually in a TBS movie with Bill Engvall called Bait Shop not too long ago).
Oh, and I don't think there were more than 10 or so entries total... so you can imagine how bad the ones were that didn't make the top 5. I'm really surprised because this was a youtube sponsored contest- they usually get lots of entries.

Did you win? Just curious. I see the winner was supposed to have been announced on December 10, 2008. I can't find any info on the website.
We usually don't enter competitions because we are paranoid and we believe most of them to be rigged. Of course we both know the real reason we don't win competitions is because our stuff sucks...but hey...we do what we like.

Nope- I didn't win. Here's the video that won:

That's the last time I enter a contest that relies on public votes to determine the winner

I'm sorry you didn't win. That's contests for you. It seems to me that it is always the safer* entries that win contests, especially when the contest is "supposedly" judged by viewers/voters.
I found your entry/animation to be much more informative and it flowed very well. Plus your entry was funny, and your audio was much better than the video that won.
Regarding the winning video, I liked the comment on Youtube where someone mentions that he should not have thrown the antenna off the roof as it is misleading to the whole point of the contest - informing people how to convert an analog TV (with an antenna) to digital TV with a converter box AND an antenna.
Maybe you will have better luck next time in a Youtube(?) contest. You just need to find yourself hundreds of "friends" to vote for you.
*Not necessarily better
