Under the hood, is Anime Studio just Flash with better controls and bells/whistles added?

or is it a completely different program from the ground up?

just curious, I know that you can export as flash but that may not mean anything.

Flash CS4 is now trying to incorporate similar features of Anime Studio.

Im not too surprised. In fact, I think i saw some reference to this endeavor. may be in part why I thought flash and ASP were similar in basic design.

Flash CS4 has incorporated an IK bone system, but as far as I know it doesnt have a warp influence, it more like pure cutout - moving seperated limbs...

Anime Studio and Flash are VERY different programs, made with very different tasks in mind... you may as well be comparing word and excel - they both allow you to create a table right?
