File transfer error

Post by Bones1991 »

hello.

I am currently using both xp and vista computers to do my animations.
now when I transfer anme files to my XP from Vista it can read it and use it.
but when I do the opposite (XP to Vista) the files are just gone. I use a flash drive based mp3 to transfer things, could that be the problem? even though it works the other way?

thanks in advance

Files are gone? Gone how?

I'm assuming that in Vista you open up the flash drive and see the files, correct? And then you drag and drop them over to whatever folder you want? If that's the case, it's probably some setting in Vista that is hiding files -- which is to say, they are probably there, just not viewable.

Try this -- attach your flash drive to your Vista computer and on that computer open up AS. In AS navigate to the flash drive and see if you can open the AS files. If so, you can certainly save them.

It could be that Vista doesn't know what a ".anme" file format is and makes it invisible. You need to be more specific about "gone".

Yeah, it kind of reminds me of the old Bobcat routine and his definition of "lost".

"I lost my job. Well, I actually didn't lose it. I know where it is. There's just someone else there doing what I used to do. And I lost my girlfriend. Well, I actually didn't lose her either. I know where she is. There's just someone else doing..."

the Vista does know what an anme. file is (did you read how I said I use BOTH Vista and XP dude?) anyway I'll try opening AS and searching in the flash drive. I'll let you know how it goes
