cain't see what I'm doin'

Post by basshole »

So, it seems that several of my style names were named by ASP, not manually by myself. For instance, I have a style simply called "blonde hair" (maybe that's supposed to be blond hair, I can never remember), but now it's called "fivush normal front skel - blonde hair" ("Fivush normal front skel" being the name of a bone layer). These long names do not fit in the dialogue box with the style names, so things are getting cut off instead of wrapping to the size of the box, or the box stretching to accommodate. In other words, though I have long names for some styles, the physical dimensions of the dialogue box containing those names never get any wider than they were when I first opened the program. I can't even see some of the options now, because of this. Is there a remedy?

Ugh. I remember having the same problem with files created by someone else. I don't know of a solution other than keeping names very short and put the important part in the beginning.

Can you open the AS file in a text editor and rename them? (Don't know, never done it...But if I tried, I'd make a copy first!)
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

You can resize the style box -- just grab the right side with the mouse and make it very very wide and then you'll be able to see the entire name (and then rename it).

BTW, this happens when you import an anime studio object into another file -- the style is prefixed with the name of the object (so if the style is "blonde hair" and the object is "Mary" then it becomes "Mary - Blonde hair"). I really really hate this, but I don't know how else it could be handled offhand (what I do is keep my style names very short and always rename them in my master files that I use to import to other files).

I should be clear here -- you need to resize the style "window" before you drop down the styles. Does that make sense?
