Possible way to speed up exporting animation

Post by stephen »

When an animation is being exported, all of the frames are drawn to the screen. It seems that the rendering would go faster if it did not do this, or at least it would take less CPU cycles if it did not do this. I don't need to see it render, the progress bar at the top is pleanty. Could we have an option to turn off this display?
I see that the F-5 preview does not show the frames, I assume that was done for speed.

Thanks

Well, there are two ways to speed up animation-redering (at least).

1. By resizing the render-window you can hide the frames that are renderd. Just resize it so that only the progressbar is visible.

2. Use the batch-renderer. In batch-render no frames are shown.

Thanks. Resizing the window helps a great deal.
I have an animation that was taking 23 minutes to render. With the window resized to just show the progress bar it now takes 15 minutes.

It seems that even more speed could be squeezed out by having Moho not even attempt to draw to the screen.

I suppose batch rendering would be an option, but when I tried to use batch rendering, it kept crashing while rendering.

Yeah, that's a problem on the Mac version that we're working on for the next update.
