Bezier corners solved!!!

Post by synthsin75 »

Someone may have already discovered this, but I didn't find it in my searches of the forum. Anime Studio operates with bezier curves just like any other vector software! The only difference is that most other software automatically 'draws' the bezier handles for you.
So all you have to do is draw your own bezier handles. Here's how:
1) Find a point that you need a bezier handle for.
2) With the add point tool, extend a line from that point. [This is one of your handles]
3) Do the same for the second handle.
It only requires a little finesse, but each handle must be extended from opposite sides of the point. You are technically extending each of the two lines that enter that point. One out one side, the other out the opposite side.
Now you can adjust these 'handles' just as you would in any other vector software. The only things to watch out for are (a) deleting the edge or the point of a handle will remove its effect on your curve, and (b) the handles must be translated, scaled, or rotated with their point, in order to maintain that corner's curvatures.

I figured as much, but I thought it would be helpful if there was a post that would come up on a search for bezier. There seem to be alotta threads complaining about this appearant shortcoming of AS.
