Was anyone aware that particle layers were affected by bones?
Create a Bone layer with two horizontal, unparented bones and add two particle layers. Then used the bind layer tool to attach each particle layer to each bone.
Interesting effect using parented particle layer bones
It's an easir way to control the directional flow of your particles using bones as opposed to going in and adjusting the particle parameters.
EDIT: The particle shapes are also affected by the scale bone tool.
Cheers

This is excellent! I tried this out and animated the bone, and it's a great way to make a spraying hose (for one example) spraying in different directions. It would be great if you could bind the particle stream to an entire bone chain, because then you could make the particles follow a curvy path using the bones. But I couldn't find a way to do this.
