Character tests

Post by Jeronimus »

So I mainly use Moho to just draw some things in it, and try out some new things, see how I like them. It almost seldomly happens that I actually use something I draw for anything, because I have drawn so many figures, of which some are unfinished, others are ugly. Next to all that, I never do get the persistence to finish any project I dare start.

So now I was drawing and thought of this earlier figure I'd drawn. It was this guitar player whose both eyes were sort of melted into one shape. His eyes were located on the same side of his nose, which was kind of the side of the head. Sounds more complicated than it is; can't really explain well in English.
So I cooked up some other cute little characters in the same style. Now I've grown to love these few drawings, they've even turned into characters with personalities and all that in my mind. So somehow I think I should do something with them, or at least with their style.

Image

Image
"ARNIE", friendly, timid, secretly in love with Annie.

Image
"ANNIE", beautiful girl, obviously Arnie's secret crush. She most likely likes him back. Nice but stubborn. Not afraid to say what she thinks.

Image
"MR. SMYTHE", not sure what his function is. A bit surly, but deep inside friendly bloke. He's either a hotel manager or Arnie's boss. Or both.

So, any remarks, please?

You got it!
So I did a little test with Mr. Smythe and Arnie. It doesn't make a lot of sense, nothing much special about it. Well, I could mention that I'm not using bones for it, but just doing it with layer translation, rotation and some slight point movement too.

Very Cool! The sound is a little loud but that may be something on my end. I can wait to see what you do with this.

BTW I love the muppet style walk.

Jeronimus, I really like the first character. They are all nice but the first one appeals to me most because the shape of the smile really relates to the shape of the rest of the head. I also like the nice clean look.

Can't wait for the animation.
