So I'm brand new to this forum and to Anime Studio, but I love the tool. If only I'd met Anime Studio 20 years ago (alas) ...
But anyway, I've been experimenting with AS and finally tried out my first walk cycle. It's just a wee little sketch really, but please feel free to view the result at:

Having finally figured it out I'm very happy with the AS bones system (for now anyway ~~ we'll see what happens when I try out some cartoon physics).
But I did have one problem. I couldn't seem to hook up the start and end of the cycle quite right (had an issue with the whole frame 0 thing and the bone offset tool). What I did was a straight forward cycle with 4 keyframes. But I had to resort to inserting the initial keyframe at frame 1 and also at frame 72 ~~ which seems to result in a slight hiccup in Troll Guy's gait. So my question is, do any of you AS gurus have any advice on getting the walk-cycle right.
And also, I'd very much appreciate any feedback you folks in this community might provide regarding the experiments.
Thanks in advance,

If the walk cycle goes from frame 1 to frame 72 (frame 0 must not be part of the animation) then the frame 73 should be exactly the same as the frame number 1.It seems that frame 72 is same than number 1 so have an small stop at the end of the walk cycle (two times the same keyframe.
If you only have four keyframes (1, 24, 48, 72) then you have to move the keyframes at 24 to 25, at 48 to 49 and at 72 to 72. Finally cycle from frame 72. As well as there is no keyframe at frame 72 you should make a bone stop there.
Go to frame 72, select all the bones affected (select bone tool and shift key) and go to Menu->Animation->Copy current frame and select the channels of the bones that want to copy and copy it over itself (that is the frame 72) It will create a keyframe that wouldn't modify the movement (if you don't change to other keyframe interpolation more than smooth). Hope it helped you.
Anyway it is a very good one for a starting point. Good job Dr. Nick.

Thanks for the tips Genete ~~ I'll have to experiment with this a bit more but I think that'll do it. Also ~~ I checked out your AS 3D tutorial ~~ very cool stuff!
