Thank you all!

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm a nut or anything, but I wanted to say thanks so much to the forum and for the Anime Studio for creating such a great and affordable product. I know it may sound weird but it has really has changed my life for the better.

This forum is one of the only places on the web that I have really felt comfortable. I have had the basic version of AS now for only a month, but the great spirit of this forum is really amazing and getting harder and harder to find on the web. I also like that it is so international, I am seeing so many more brilliant animations then I have ever seen before.

Hopefully in the future when I know AS better I can help out by helping out more too. So many people here have helped me with my basic questions to get up and running that I feel I own the forum something.

Take care my friends, and after my taxes are done for the year I am back to animating :)

Joel (byanfu).

Ha ha!

You should read some of my first posts when I first started using Moho! My goodness... I think most of my posts at the time were over the top "love letters" about Lost Marble and Mike and this wonderful product... I am sure if I go back now and read them I will be horribly embarrassed. ;)

I often got really angry when people bad mouthed Moho at the time. I hope I've calmed down somewhat.

And it was about the same time of use that you've had so far. I think you will be a fan for life now.

I agree with you 1000%... and you aren't a nut. I think this software, its creator's dedication to his customers and the community here on this forum inspire those feelings.

I never get warm fuzzy feelings using Photoshop that's for sure. ;)

p.s. I get the same warm fuzzy feelings over at the Animation:Master forum. AS for 2D and A:M for 3D. My two favorite programs in the whole world (kind of weird they now have almost identical initials). The only programs that make it feel like Christmas eve waiting for them to boot up.

It's changed my life, too, for the better. I would hate to animate with anything else now. And all because of an incredibly unlikely event -- actually reading one of the weekly AWN newsletters that I've been ignoring for years, and seeing a mention of this product (late November or early December), and being curious enough to check the product site, and being lucky enough to find the examples of GreyKid's work with it. Of course, it was reading the forums and seeing other people's work that convinced me it was the right choice.

Even if you are a proffessional animatior and want to earn money with animation jobs or simply are a hobbylist animator (like me), Moho (now Anime Studio) and his forum is one of the ones that you should belong to.

I think Moho / AS is a very particular animation program. It is not for people who want one mouse click and a whole animation is done. It is for people that love the animation, for people who investigate new kinds of animation. That's the reason why this forum is so special. People here is always free helpers and constructive critics for each other. There are several mixed types of styles and country origins (from Thailand to South Africa passing thru Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Japan and Canada (*)) and it gives a lot of richness to it. And it is only 4 years old!!!!

I feel confortable on it also.
I'm sure you will soon contribute to its richness with spendid animations and clever tips and techniques.

(*) Barcelona also... I don't want Ramón to hate me...

Sometimes i feel like getting married to AS, but then it'll crash or fuck up an export, so we don't talk for weeks, you know?!

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO! i can't continue in such an up and down relationship. Flash abused me, Photoshop was cold and clinical, Illustrator was too posh.. even final cut was just a little to hard to talk too.... :(

Hi joel,

I feel the same way about AS (and the forum) as you. I get on with AS better than any other 2D software and find it a joy to use. At work we have been given the opportunity of submitting proposals for animated series. I have done all my artwork (and some animation) in AS. I've heard people complain about the drawing tools in AS but I find them fantastic! I sketch a rough and simply trace over it in AS and can easily adjust line width and fills etc to get the look I want.
Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, I can't show any of this work yet until it's either been rejected or accepted :D

I think the comunity that was built (dating all the way back to the old Moho days) surrounding this software has been all the difference for me. Honestly, I've lurked through a lot of forums over the last few years (which seems necessary these days as more companies are resorting to user-forums as their support system for software) and honestly I find that usually the forums for other software packages or developers wind up being fairly combatative in tone. A lot of times I refuse to even post my work or questions about techniques because I know it will degrade into name calling, flame wars, and in the end nothing will be gained (that I couldn't get from my abusive ex-girlfriend).

So yeah, kudos to the Mike for making the software, and for the user base who actually made this a community that I want to be a part of.
