I LOVE this forum!!!Touched wrote:That's how I'm doing it, as well! In this way tou can insert a keyframe for a lot of sublayer with only one click.

Don't worry. I'm glad to do it.DK wrote:Hi Genete,
Without putting you to any trouble, would it be possible to see a VERY basic rig with say two bones. One bone that rotates on the Y axis with a child bone that rotates on the X,Z planes maybe parented to a simple lyer with a couple of ovals that rerpresents eyes? I just need to grasp a basic understanding of the scripts or process that allows the bones to rotate in 3D space. soprry to put you to any bother, but I think it may benefit quite a few AS users who would like to get into this area along with you.

Hey Furby,
I've been looking at this file for a couple of days now. Nice work. Really nice rotation and movement. I only noticed one thing that doesn't quite work: the right eyebrow as it comes out of profile. It extends or overlaps a bit prematurely. Other than that, nice work.
Actually, I've been trying to figure out what you did. I'm not quite sure how actions fit into the game plan here, and I'm not sure what's going on in the timeline where the keyframes kinda look like a cycle is set up, but there's no red line extending back to the start point of the cycle.
It's all a mystery to me, man. Then again, I'm so tired from night feeding my new baby that just about everything is a mystery to me at the moment.
I've been trying to read Genete's tutorial on 3D movement and I know he's doing some great stuff, it just isn't translating over at the moment.

I don't want to monopolize DarthFurby's topic but I need some responses to the understanding of the basics from people what is interested in lerning how to translate Genete's 3D conceps to AS.DK wrote:Hi Slice. I think Genetes new tutorial he's working on sahould clear things up a lot. I'm with you. I can't seem to translate what he's saying into practice as yet although I do understand what's going on I just need to know how to set it all up in AS.

I'm going to open a new topic in Tips and Techniques to manage that responses.
Please if interested, go there.
Best wishes.

Thanks a lot Touched. I think our art styles are on a similar skill level, yours is the eastern version and I'm the western version. There's some irony there. Here are the original layouts. I did a really sloppy side view. Big mistake. Cost me a ton of time tweaking vectors.

Hi Slice, thanks for the comments and crits. You've got a very sharp eye. There's been a lot of interest in actions lately so I'll make a make a video tutorial of my head turn. It's easier to show and tell than to write about it. Look for it this weekend. After that I'm diving 100% into Genete's bone rig lessons.
Regarding the cycle, click the bone layer labelled "Head + neck bone" to see that red bar.
