Do you want folders for the Actions palette?

Folders to organise actions

Post by Touched »

I'm working with an extremely complicated character setup, and Actions are indispensable for this task. But this means that I'm creating a hell of a lot of them, and I wish there were a way to better organise them. Like folders in the Actions palette. That's my request.

Before give my vote. Could you explain it a little more please?
It is supoused that you want an action subdivided into subactions and that each can be selected (inserted) at any level. It is that?
I think it make sense for actions for the same layer. Not valid for sublayers because they would have their own actions folders. Mmm... can you write a proposal example?

I mean that the actions should be placed the same way they're already placed, where if you make an action on the root it'll appear in the root as well as all the child layers, and if you make an action on a child layer it won't appear in the parent -- that structure is fine. But for anywhere that the action DOES appear, I would like to create a folder to contain it, so that I can have, for instance, on the "head" bone layer, a folder called "expressions" and a folder called "angles". This same folder would appear on any child layer where the actions contained in it appear.

What you mean is that you want to see ALL the actions hierarchy in the actions window WITHOUT dependence of what layer is selected.
I vote for that!!!!
