So i did this today. It doesn't make sense, i know. I felt an overwhelming urge to combine both video and animation and hope to do more of it in the future considering it isn't exactly rocket science. Hopefully with more story maybe. Or a concept worth doing.

i underlined the "it doesn't make sense" in the original post. And like i said, i was just experimenting.

I edited the video in final cut. Spent hours trying to import the animated sequence into it and then thought "nah." Silly AS and its improper export of alpha layers!
The animation also look odd just plonked ontop of the video, so i used the layer blending modes, found in the properties. i used 'add' as it made everything look prettier than they were.
So instead i just exported the cut up video from AS itself and then imported it back into Final cut for some touch ups (haha, if any).
