no masking edges option

Post by Víctor Paredes »

hi, i have a character with masking
(is just a test to show you, so the draw is not very cute  )
i like to give it shadows and brights with masks, but when i put a mask which touch some edge section, it section disappears
Image

could be some option to avoid that this happens?

(what i'm obligated to do is, finished all the animation, duplicate the head layer, send to top and eliminate the fill)

thanks.

Some people also use the layer shading options to create an outline -will this work for you?

Here are two samples of ways. The first way with shadow is a pain I think but may be useful in some circumstances. The second method shows the mask and using layer mode 'color' (other modes may work in other situations) to show the hidden line -perhaps one of these will serve you.

This is with the layer shadow but the line is not perfect. Still it may be useful at some point.

and here is the second one with the mask layer applied using 'Color' layer mode.
