I know this is probably simple, but I can't find a tutorial for it.
I've got a character that I created with the freehand tool set to auto stroke and multi stroke fill.
I drew the outline of the body and it filled the whole thing with white and the stroke was black. So far so good.
I then added some black lines (no fill).
I didn't notice that the space between his arm and body was also filled with white. I found out when I added a background layer that was colored.
So... is there a way to cut out that space?
I don't see a way to upload the jpg, but I do see people doing it. I'll upload something if I find out how.
Thanks.

Re: Cut a hole in a shape?
how many filled shapes did you end up creating? If it's just one (or a few), then probably easiest to delete the shape(s) (not the path), then make new filled shapes from the bits of the path they you want filled. Hard to tell without seeing it tho.NealF2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:41 am I know this is probably simple, but I can't find a tutorial for it.

image uploads: find a (free!) image hosting site (I use imgbb.com), upload to that then post the link here.
Re: Cut a hole in a shape?
Thanks.
It was probably several shapes. Lost track. But I did find a way.
Don't know if this is the best way, but it worked.
I used the erasure tool. It cut a hole but had the same stroke as the shape. So I used the width too to slim the stroke down to zero. Then I just used the T tool to shape the hole to what I needed.
Thanks for your suggestions, Hayasidist.

Re: Cut a hole in a shape?
You can also use Liquid Shapes.
(assuming 2 overlapping shapes):
1) Select the upper (topmost) shape
2) Click the Subtract tool button (which creates a dynamic cutout)
3) Click the [Merge] button to create a permanent new shape with the hole or cutout
