Search query restrictions on forum

Post by marksimonson »

I'm new here, so sorry if this has come up before. I'm also new to Moho and wanted to search for information about the create shape tool. But when I tried to search for "create shape" or "create shape tool" I got his message:

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: shape create."

I tried putting the search terms between quotes, hoping to limit the search to those exact words in that order, but got the same message.

How is this even a thing? Is there some trick to searching for things like this here?

Hi,

This means that the terms are used too frequently in this forum to produce practical search results. To find a specific reference to a standard tool in this forum, you'll need to enter more information, for example, about a particular use of the tool or the name of the user who made the post you're looking for.

For general information about Create Shape (or any tool), you probably want to search the online User Manual, not the user discussion forum. The User Manual's link can be found in the program's Help menu.

If you have a question about the tool after looking it up in the manual, create a new Topic and ask it here.

Hope this helps.

BTW, the Search feature in the online manual is even fussier than the forum's. In its case, a minimal description works better than a detailed one. :)

When you return to the forums, if you still have trouble finding relevant information, try using Google to search the forums. Note: there's a bug in the forum's search engine that prevents it from listing the most relevant results, and I often find what I'm looking for quicker through Google.

Good luck!
