Gradient Effect Not Working?

Post by DorothyLadyBug »

My gradient feature doesn't seem to be working. I'm getting an empty circle on a white background. I use this feature a lot so I don't think it's my error. There seems to be something in the background that's not right. Can you help?

(I wasnt able to insert an image)

Hi DorothyLadyBug,

To add an image to a post, you'll need to upload it to an image server, paste the image link in your post, select it, and then click the Insert Image button.

I like to use Dropbox. If you don't have a Dropbox account, you can get a free one from here:

Dropbox Basic

One quirk with Dropbox is that you'll need to make a small adjustment to their provided link. At the end of the link, change the text [dl=0] to [raw=1]. If you don't make the change, the link will behave like a download link.

Google Drive should work, too, but I'm not sure if it requires any special instructions.

Hopefully, someone here can help once you get an example image posted.

I'll take a shot:

Does the effect appear in a render preview (Ctrl-R)? If it renders correctly, check that Shape Effects is enabled in the Display Preview settings.

The Gradient effect should work in Moho 14.2, as I've been using it a lot lately. I'm sure we can get it working for you too.

While this may or may not be the cause of the OP's problem, I just discovered you need to select the layer, then use the Q tool (select shape) and click on the part to make the gradient work.
If instead you select the layer, then the shape name from the drop-down on the style panel it acts goofy and does not show the angle/width adjusters. Essentially useless unless you do it without Q.
IDK if this is from a bug, an oversight, or most likely my misunderstanding of the interface.
