Moho was running slow and I found out why

Post by negroclarito »

I think sometimes the "Transform Rig Tool" script can create some problems. I love that script and use it often.

I'm sharing my experience in case it can help someone who is having the same problem.

On some rigs Moho was very slow to the point where moving the timeline was tedious and animating was impossible. I thought it was the latest Moho update (14.2) or it could be some scripts I had been installing. So I uninstalled Moho, deleted the preferences folder and installed Moho again, but the problem continued.
Then I started deleting actions from the rig I was making but it was still the same. It was when I started deleting bones that I found that when I deleted a target bone from the foot the timeline started working fine.
That target bone had been created by duplicating a part of the Rig with the "Transform Rig Tool" script (the latest version) so think hat the script could have been the problem. If I created another target bone in the same place using the rest of the bones, the same thing happened again, so I deleted all the leg bones I had duplicated and tried to create them again by duplicating them again with the "Transform Rig Tool". This time it worked fine and the timeline finally runs correctly.

I hope that if this happens to someone else, they can look at what happened to me first and not waste as much time as I did.

UPDATE:

After further checking the problem might be in the combination of the Arc IK Solver option, angle constraints and a bone with dynamics but not in the Transform Rig tool.

Redoing the rig solved the problem.

Thank you KuzKuz for checking the file and giving me the solution. :D

If you think the issue is with my script, you could have just posted in the script thread or sent me a direct message.
Send me the Moho file and the steps to reproduce the problem, and I’ll try to fix it if the issue is with the script.

Sure. I'll send you a message.

I wanted to post this in the general forum in case anyone had a similar problem and so anyone could see if that could be one of the causes. I often check more the general section than others and I think this way it could help more people.

Next time I see something weird in one of your scripts I'll contact you first
