Ultimate Guide For Print-On-Demand Startups

Print-on-demand (POD) lets anyone design and sell custom threads without needing to stock inventory upfront. The shirts only get printed one by one when a customer places an order. So you never end up with unsold products just sitting around.

This retail model also allows starting a t-shirt brand affordably from home. If you've got cool ideas for tee designs, POD allows you to tap into the global clothing markets totally risk-free. Use this LionKingShirt guide to launch your own print-on-demand clothing hustle.

Picking POD Platforms and Products

Picking the right print-on-demand (POD) platform is key for getting your custom shirt biz off the ground. Research popular POD companies like Printful, Printify, CustomCat, GearLaunch, Teespring and more. Compare their features to see which works best for your needs:

Integrations - Look for platforms with direct integrations to major online shops like Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, and Amazon. These connections let you easily sync product listings, track order status, and more between platforms. This makes managing everything way simpler. This streamlines management under one dashboard.

Quality - Order sample products across PODs to inspect print quality, fabric softness, construction, sizing accuracy, and other features firsthand. Read product reviews from fellow sellers as well. Ensure the quality meets your standards before selling at scale.

Color/Size Choices - More color and size options allow better catering to perse customers. See what variations each POD provides for their products from basic colors and standard sizing to expanded palettes and inclusive sizes.

Base Products - Choose PODs that offer a wide selection beyond just t-shirts - think hoodies, sweats, hats, tanks, posters, mugs, phone cases and more. More product types mean more opportunities for you.

Production & Ship Times - Standard production and shipping times can vary considerably between platforms and locations. Average out common order-to-door timeframes. Determine if the speed suits the type of products you plan to sell.

Return Policy - Understand how returns and refunds get handled for any quality or sizing issues. More accommodating policies provide better customer service.

Pricing - Price out sample orders on each POD to calculate potential profit margins after their product costs and your chosen marketplace's fees get deducted. In general, margins range 10-25%.

First, you have to establish your POD platform

By thoroughly evaluating features against your business goals, you can determine which print-on-demand companies make the best partners. Many successful shirt sellers use a mix of 2-3 integrated POD platforms to take advantage of expanded product selections and production redundancy.

Building Your Brand Identity

The POD industry empowers anyone to sell custom shirts, so building a strong brand identity becomes crucial. Brainstorm fun names that evoke your niche or design aesthetics, such as Lion King T Shirts. Create eye-catching logos and branding guidelines around colors, fonts, and imagery.

Craft social media accounts and a simple website to establish your online presence and style. Curate quality lifestyle photography that resonates with your target demographic. Tell your brand’s story and mission authentically through graphics and content. Invest in presenting a polished, consistent brand image across assets and channels.

Executing standout branding bolsters perceived value beyond being just another POD shirt shop. It allows nurturing an engaged community supportive of your tee vision.

Launching Your Online Shirt Shop

Once your branding is in place, it's time to launch your print-on-demand shirt store. Leading ecommerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce integrate seamlessly with PODs for a turnkey setup. Choose a visually appealing theme aligned to your brand vibe. Categorize shirts and utilize quality product copywriting and imagery. Prominently display policies like shipping times, returns, and sizing. Activate payment processing through a provider like Stripe.

Consider running pre-launch discount codes and giveaways to build hype and initial sales. Soft launches allow working out kinks before heavy promotion. Create social posts and ads driving people to your shop. Analyze data on bestselling designs, popular sizes, and other metrics to optimize operations.

Offer occasional sales or special edition shirts. Publish blogs, videos, and other content that provides value beyond just selling merchandise.

Wrapping Things Up

Starting a successful print-on-demand clothing line takes creativity and commitment. But POD technology empowers anyone to affordably create, market, and deliver custom tee designs worldwide. By taking calculated steps to establish captivating branding, polished webstores, and robust product offerings, passionate entrepreneurs can build shirt brands from the ground up. Re: Update of Moho to V 13.5

I haven't had any major problems opening Moho 12.5 scenes in 13.5.5. I think I may have needed to re-enable a few things like showing bone names but nothing major.

Can you post an example project? It can be minimal just to illustrate the problem.
