Hypotrochoids (WTF are they????)

For various obscure reasons, I've been working on the maths behind the shapes that can be drawn using a spirograph (hypotrochoids). The formulae migrated from a spreadsheet to a moho script.

and this is an example of its use -- many of the shapes you'll see were created using the script ... which also allows them to be animated - which is how they morph from the initial lattice to the wobbly blob that finally disappears.



If anyone has a serious use for this, I'll be gobsmacked, but it's out there for you to ignore or use as a plaything as you choose!
