Was thinking about Adobe Illustrator

Post by gottsbett »

I am somewhat inexperience with drawing 2D images with vectors, most of my software for 2d imagery is set up to emulate real art media with the use of a Wacom tablet. I have used vectors for web graphics but nothing more then simple shapes. I am not totally lost since I also do 3D art and move and manipulate points and lines in 3D space, but my vector drawing needs improvement!

I have also discovered that none of my current 2D art programs have a way of saving vector made images without either; 1: turning them into a raster. 2: Merging all the layers and or, 3: Changing the way the look, unless it is saved in the programs native format.

After this discovery I was told in an earlier post; “If it can save those vectors as Adobe Illustrator format than you can import them into Moho.”

Well I can’t so I looked into Adobe Illustrator and was amazed with the vector art one could make with it, plus the ability to “live trace” and turn drawn art into vector images got me thinking, Wow import that into Moho and yahoo sweet looking cartoons!

I was sold and planned on buying AI.

My experience in what I had to do with my 3D apps to get them to work well with each other made me think twice so I search Adobe Illustrator on the forum to discover this is not the case!

RATS!

From what I gathered on the posts here on this subject I understand the reason, plus my lack of real and long time use of Moho does not allow me to much complaining room, but as a user of lots of other software I also know that the better and more accurate programs import and export information into each other the better!

Oh well just giving my 2 cents.
