How to open an old Moho version 5.6? with a recent version?

I need to open an old Moho project made back in 2006 I think it was version 5.6 according to the year in the Wiki I could find.
Anyone knows which step, which version in between could open it with Anime Studio Pro 10?
(I'm a little rusty with Moho)

I had forgotten, so I had to dig up an old .moho file.

Just rename the file, replacing ".moho" with ".anme". You'll probably get a warning about changing the file extension, but this won't hurt the file (and you can always make a copy until you're sure it worked).

No, Wes, I don't think it's that simple. As far as I remember, you need to open your old files in ASP 8 and re-save them. So, ASP 8 is the buffer version that is able to understand old .moho and .anme files and save them to a format understandable by more recent versions.

You can verify for yourself, Stan. This post still has a Moho 5.2 file: viewtopic.php?t=1956
Rename the extension from .moho to .anme, and it will open in Moho 12.

Moho 12 still knows how to open .anme files, and they weren't really any different from the original .moho format. You just have to rename it so Moho 12 doesn't try to open it as a JSON, which it expects since going back to the name Moho and .moho file extension.



If I remember correctly, we did need a converter to go from like Moho 4 to Moho 5, but that's ancient.
