Can't make an object transparent

Hi, As you can see, I have a rectangle which is made into three smaller rectangles. What I wanted was to make some sections transparent.

As you can see from the top and bottom rectangles, I was able to make them transparent by choosing a transparent color in the fill color and creating a shape for both.

However, I can't do it for the middle rectangle.

I want to use this method to hide the middle part of a sword-helt under a hand but I don't know why I can't do it for the middle rectangle.

Since I can't see your setup, I can only guess why the middle isn't transparent. The first guess is that the setting for the middle shape is not correct. An easy fix is to simply sample the style from one of the shapes that's correctly styles. You modify it to taste after that.

But if that's not the case, it might be that you have more than one shape stacked there and one of the shapes is solid. Or, it could be that.

To be honest, a better way to handle this (so to speak) is to use a mask for the hilt of the sword where it goes 'inside' the hand. Another option is the use a switch for two different swords, one for non-held and one for held. Another option is to use a hand switch that has a hand holding the sword.

Or, what may be simpler, depending on how you've laid out your scene, the sword layer can simply be stacked behind the hand layer.

That's a few ways to do this. There are probably many other variations.
