Capture AS videos

Post by mystd »

I've tried several different screen capture software but AS workspace is always black. The Tools Style Layers etc. show up fine it's just he workspace that is black. I've tried game capture etc. but nothing works. Any suggestion how to get it to work? It works for games and other software.

If they're all doing that, it probably has to do with your graphics hardware or driver. But there are a couple of things you can check in ASP before downloading and installing a new video driver.

First, try checking off GPU acceleration in the Workspace Display Quality popup. In fact, that's the first thing to check whenever you see display issues (typically, masking preview issues.) If that doesn't help, go into Preferences and disable the GPU option there.

If this doesn't help, you could try different display options for your graphics card or chip set but personally, at this point I would probably check to see if there is a newer driver available. Getting the latest driver update almost always solves these kind of problems for me.

BTW, which capture programs did you try. I normally use Camtasia on my workstation--it's a good program but a bit pricey. More recently, I installed Movavi on my tablet computer, which is a lot cheaper and works well too. Right now you can get it for about $50, but the price will go up to $80 soon. There are a few free ones out there too but I haven't used any of them in years to comment fairly on them.

Thx disabling gpu worked. I'm very fond of OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) it's free and has all the features I need.

Oh I just thought it worked but I get a still image T_T I'll just continue making pictures then.
