Prevent media player preview after exporting .avi

Post by stephklein »

Whenever I export an animation, Moho automatically opens the newly created file in Media Player. Is there a way to prevent this? I Havent found any options in Moho.

No, there's no option to stop that.

this option should exist. some people (i'm part) has very slow computers, and open windows media after all the night animating is like killing it.

What really bothers me is that I usually have media player doing other things while i'm working (checking other video files, playing cd's, etc).

I'm using moho to animate individual elements which I then combine in After Effects. When I start exporting, I usually do at least 4 exports at a time, and it's annoying to have it constantly interrupt media player. I just think it's a silly thing to have in a program like this.

So, for the time being, i've started exporting with targa sequences just to avoid the interruption.

oh well.

A workaround would be to export to JPEG and use a program to create a video out of seperate JPEG files. This route may take longer to create your video, but at least it will not slow down your PC to a grind when Moho activates the movie player.

it's worse to me. i don't use the windows media, i hate it. it's so big, and so ugly and so like the "xp style"... and my pc is so slow, he sees all the points of view, he meditates all the for and against things, he is a thinking guy... only when he is sure, really really sure, he opens paint, or windows media, or moho or whatever.

If it is that bad, you might consider upgrading your computer, or install Linux as a dual boot. I'm told Linux is much leaner than Windows and also more stable and there is a Linux version of Moho.

I can add an option to the "wish list" to not play videos after exporting them. However, if you're exporting 4 movies at a time, you'd probably be better off using the batch export mode anyway, and in that mode Moho won't open the media player. Select the File->Batch Export menu command.

yes, i want to upgrade my computer. but first i need money, and to get money i need animating, and to animating i need a computer wich don't break with windows media... it's a circle.
no, no, actually my computer is not so slow as i said, but i would like to choose if want that windows media were or weren't open. and actually i don't get any money animating, i'm too much hippie to do that.

anyway, how is that of wish list? where and what is it?

Of course, if your particular Moho file renders a large movie file, you can use batch export for a single Moho file as well. The movie playback is not activated in this case, though you don't seem to have any control were the file(s) are placed on your harddisk, as you have with the single export menu option. They are exported in the same folders (directories) as where the Moho files are located.

It's not online - it's an informal list of feature requests that people have made. Over time, many of these have been implemented in Moho updates.

This is exactly what i'm doing with targa sequences. After Effects imports the sequence as a solid video file.
