Resident Rigging Expert

Hello,
I'm Colonel Phil.
New to this forum and relatively new to AS and Animation in general.
I come from a background where I sculpted figurines and life sized busts.
I have learned character creation, which I enjoy, am currently learning the depths of rigging, which I also Enjoy (all the while, multitasking and learning the principles of animation, when I have too much on my plate, I just get a bigger plate.)
But I have questions about rigging that may require someone with some expertise on the subject. I've done extensive searches on certain rigging concepts only to find a few and none that address my questions.

So, Please, Chime in and let's discuss all we can about the seemingly limitless possibilities of rigging. . .

What time zone are you in?

95% of everything I know is covered by tutorials that can be found on YouTube. I suggest that you spend some time watching and repeating them.

Actually Dueyftw you are who I've been looking for,
I'm trying to make a rig where the wheels of a wagon rotate and roll guided by the motion of the horses so that all I really have to animate is the movement of the horses and the wagon will follow and stop when the horses do , should they rare up, the wheels and wagon will respond accordingly. actually I'm trying to rig a chicken to a small cart (don't tell PETA) and want the cart to have the same jerky motion as a chicken does when walking but without having to animate the wheels and wagon separately....
Mike Kelly put out a tool script 3 yrs. ago called trans to rotate tool, Name the bones. . .Main control bone B1 and name the wheel bones B1_ (put in whatever name you want here), wheel bones set to center of hub. no constraints on any, then go to frame 1, click the trans to rotate tool , grab the control bone and move left or right and the wheels move and rotate smoothly,constrained with shift for a level roll, however you cannot add another control bone to the main control bone parenting the first to the second without losing the effect of the trans to rotate tool and will only drag non rotating wheels forward . . .
I've been very impressed with your work with rigs and was hoping that I could reach you and ask for help.
Would be willing to provide you with some characters standard rigged or unrigged and you can take it from there. All I need is your description of what you want in a character and I will Bounce Drawings and ideas back and forth with you until we reach what you want .
Could make one of you if you like, (Give Furn a cartoon friend ) would only need front, 3/4, profile and back head shots. So Far character creation is what i do best and I love doing it.
I Live In NC so....EST. and I Have Looked At Tutorials and for tutorials for a long time now and found nothing to answer this problem...If It's out there... I ain't seein' it.

I'm in FL for the week then back to NY where I have real internet. My wifi card is not working so I'm doing this out of MCdee's

I work out how I would do a cart attached to a animal. I didn't use anything, but the Program. As far as the cart and animal interacting that is up to you. Anime Studio can't do all the work. But it can help out a ton.


This is my approach to your problem. I wouldn't do it the way you would.
