Hi all!
I am doing an animated music video where all characters have to move to the beat of the song.
Does anyone have any tips on creating a "BEAT CHART" from a WAV file for AS? Something visual
on the timeline that marks the down or upbeat?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Beat Chart
I would generate a click track from Audacity and import into ASP. You'll get both visual and audio markers on the timeline.
Re: Beat Chart
Neeters!!!! You just saved my life on that one thank you so much. I am not working off a midi file so I had no idea. I did manage to find out the BPS and I generated a click track in Audacity like you said and it's perfect!
Thanks again!

Re: Beat Chart
Hey DK,
This might also help - I saw a BPM calculator online and asked the guy if he could add a frames per beat feature. What this means is if you set a fps and tap to the beat, it will give you the number of frames per beat (as well as bpm for creating a click track if you want) - so you know (for example) if you have key things happen every X frames, they will fall on a beat.

Bare in mind though that unless the music is electronic, the beats are more than likely to be drifting somewhat throughout the track...
