Pieces moving between frame 0 and beyond...

Post by DrawMonkey »

Hello all,

I hope someone can help me on this cause I have absolutely no clue why this is happening.

I've been slowly building a character to see how useful Anime is for full production ( and loving it ). An issue has come up where I tweaked something ( not sure what exactly, didn't notice when it actually started ) and now if I'm on the 0 frame and switch between the SELECT BONE and MANIPULATE BONES tools certain pieces shift slightly. It also happens between the 0 frame and the rest of the timeline.

Anybody know what I did to make this happen? Or how to fix/avoid this in the future?

Thanks in advance,
DrawMonkey

Thanks for the reply slowtiger but that's not exactly what I mean. I understand that the 0 frame is there to test out if bone manipulation and has it's default that it reverts to by selecting certain tools or double clicking on the little red 0.

My problem is that I have 2 layers with each a few different pieces for the character's hair. When I'm on the main bone layer, if I go between the 2 tools, back and forth, the hair shifts a bit. i.e. I click on MANIPULATE BONE and it shifts a bit, I click on SELECT BONE and it's shifts back to where it was at first, and so on, and so forth.

Did you, by any chance, use the Offset bone tool on that? Try to reset that one.

That didn't seem to do anything.

Is it a bad idea to have a bone layer hidden inside a bone layer? I did this so that I could call different head views with their individual bone layer for each body view. I'm wondering if I'm just trying to do too much in one build.

In case this helps both the MANIPULATE BONE and BONE STRENGTH leave the hair at one spot, and all other bone tools have it at the other spot.

Weird.

Problem solved. It worked out that inside one ( or some ) of the eye smart bones, that string of bones that were giving me the problem were moved slightly on the first frame. It was just a matter of going inside each action and deleting the problematic bones' channel and voilà, all done.

Thanks for all the help guys.
