Constructive criticism highly welcomed! (updated link)

Post by mtbuck24 »

Hey guys,

I would like to know how I can make the animation (lip sync, movement, etc.) better. This is a video I made to introduce new members to my Facebook group Anime Studio Pros.

Thanks for any feedback you can give :D

The movement is lively already, I think creating a head turn (controlled via smart bone) or additional hand poses (via Switch Layer, perhaps) can bring some more variety to this animation. He doesn't need to do a full head turn during the animation, but just slight changes as his head moves around can add so much.

The hands are the same. I would have the one hand pointing.

The over all movement has no anticipation or follow through.

Change the hair and, or the tee shirt so they have some follow through. Give the hair some bangs that move. Make the tee shirt sleeves a little bit lager so they can move. As he comes into frame, the end of the one sleeve would keep moving up for a few frames then settle back on the arm.

It's that easy to become a pro?
Wow all this time I thought you had to get a job first.
I'm really out of touch.

In the context of the subject matter, this guy really needs some more attention.
The hands need more positions and dimension.
Head turns would be nice, especially as he gestures toward the 'Signage'
Can his eyebrows say more?
His shoulders are very rigid , could they loosen up a bit?
Lastly the characters right arm , when he says , 'you are now a pro' is a bit odd, wouldn't you agree?

Indeed, as said before, just work a bit more on hands. Animation and message are good for this annoucement. It is the most important.
