COLOR PROBLEM

Post by Hans Rickheit »

I'm happily coloring in the girl's hair with the Paintbucket tool when it comes to this one section where it just doesn't work. Why?

Here is the file for the curious:

Seems to work fine here, although you need to move the shape back, behind the black shapes. The paintbucket doesn't work as in program like Photoshop where contiguous areas are filled. The paint bucket tool in ASP fills closed shapes and doesn't exclude shapes within it.

I think the create shape tool (fill only) would be more useful here. Select the outline points then hit the space bar. Use the up and down keys to move the new shape behind the black lines if needed.
I don't like how the paint bucket creates shapes that don't match (zoom in to see).

I also just noticed that the main part of her hair is actually a negative part of the line vector. If you select it, you can move it away. This may be why you had trouble with the paint bucket.
