The Complementaries
It's been a while since I put anything up, I had to re-learn Anime Studio all over again so I set myself a project to put me back into it. They are very simple characters, I didn't know what to with them so I made them a band and had them mime to an old song.
Re: The Complementaries
Ha ha! You should do more -- reminded me a little of some of Mike Scott's stuff.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Re: The Complementaries
I actually reference Mike Scott's "Happy Land" for the slow walk.

Perfect. Embrace the sillyness!
How did you do the living texture over the backgrounds?

Re: The Complementaries
I composited in After Effects, so I was re-positioning a texture around every two frames as an overlay. I don't think ASP has any sort of overlay modes equivalent, perhaps just using transparency on that layer could work. But I think it could be helpful in future if they did bring in layer modes like additive, multiply, overlay. Do they have it? I didn't find it.
Re: The Complementaries
Great stuff Dj Thanks for showing
Re: The Complementaries
Yes, layer properties has some blend modes. I use Multiply often, to control the effect I change the texture's (image or video) opacity.
For simplicity: I'd have a texture only run, 2 sec long, then render this as movie and apply everywhere, to avoid having to shift this again everywhere every 2 frames. Did you really do that??

Re: The Complementaries
I love the style! Great job! The lip sync is just a tad bit on the float-y side for my taste - but I really loved it! Very fun, and fun to watch! Excellent job!
Who? What?...Huh?

Answer for Slowtiger
Well, for about 24 frames and then it just cycles. Oh wow, you're right, they do have transfer modes in the layers. That's great, ASP just keeps on impressing me more and more.

Thanks, that''s one of the things I need to work on. Still haven't worked out best method for getting all the required mouth shapes, and switch layers might've even been better for this style.
