Why can't i copypaste layers into other layers in a project?

I have always been able to copy the points that make up a layer into another layer. The reason why i do this is becuase i generelly draw one part of a body part and make into one layer and can do several layers for each body part. Then i copypaste all these body part layers into one layer that make up the whole body part. But in my latest project when i paste the copied layer, nothing happens. What can the problem be? If you can't help me whit this information i will share the project file so you can try copy paste points yourself.

not sure what you're saying -- is it paste points that doesn't work? or is paste layer that does nothing? .. just tried both here -- copy/paste points between same or different layers in the same or different document; and copy/paste layers between the same or different docs is fine.

try this: after the "paste that doesn't work" with the target layer selected (windows, AS11) press "alt-home" (that will move the view to the points in the active layer)... it's just possible that the points were pasted but they're out of the viewport
