Expoting/video issues
I've got a 15min animation done with a wave sound file and every time when the exporting is done the video won't play. Even when I take out the wave sound file it won't work. Windows Media Player gives me an error saying it can't play, then when I look at the avi movie file that I just exported, it gives me the size, frame width/height, rating, etc.. the only thing it doesn't tell me is the length, so I suspect I has something to do with the exporting because earlier I had some similar problems however found a solution but not this time.
Here are the list of programs I'm using to make this animation:
Anime Studio Pro 8
Windows Media Player
ITunes (converting into wav)
I have a feeling that the animation maybe too long to export completely, I do hope I'm wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Expoting/video issues
Try exporting just a quarter or half of the video. You can also try Quicktime. I sometimes get errors too. I just do it over because it may just work the next time.

Thanks, seems to work when I lower the length. just wish it could do the whole animation.

						Re: Expoting/video issues
I have ASP9.5 and I may be pushing the limits because I started duplicating group folders. Rather than exporting several short videos and reassembling them in a video editor I placed chunks of animation in group folders so I can move them around with the sequencer. I've now got a ton of folders and managing all that data is becoming a challenge. I also started using Notes as bookmarks.
At the moment I've only got 3 minutes, 30 seconds and I'm not quite at the halfway mark. We'll see how it goes.

I've manage to get half of my animation exported(7min/30sec), although it turned out really weird. might have been when I was either moving the window around or having it minimized. think I'll be fine if I don't mess with it when I export it again. the animation that I'm making is from a group that does roll play, I've taken up the challenge to animate their roll play and I got a lot messages to do it, I too have want to see it animated and I'm loving it so far.
Here's the link for the Roll Play:

Here's what I have so far for animation:

Re: Expoting/video issues
Great, I think my animation might be corrupted or something, when its done exporting and plays the animation, it shows 2 different parts of the animation stuck for the entire video. I've tried reloading Anime Studio pro, taking out the sound, and even tried different compression options. there is something I can do that'll be quick and easy, but may not look very good. the last I want to do is start over from the beginning.

Your first post said 15 minutes of animation. I would not even want to think about starting from scratch. I also hope the file is backed-up. I wonder if you could do something like export it in smaller clips using "avi uncompressed"? You would have to reassemble the clips in an external movie editor.warman343 wrote:Great, I think my animation might be corrupted or something, when its done exporting and plays the animation, it shows 2 different parts of the animation stuck for the entire video. unfortunately its not backed up. I just did a test were I exported only 5 seconds of the animation(with a wav.file) using full frames(uncompressed): no problems. when I did it at 15mins it didn't even play the video so I may just have to play around until I get the right length to export it at. keep in mind that I've only got half of my animation done(total of ~30 min), and I've got 4 more episodes to animate.

well, its corrupted somehow. either I start from scratch (making a new file) or delete and remake all the animations that where set up and hope that'll fix it.

Before you throw everything away, try and import from that old project into a new one.

Re: Expoting/video issues
The result is the same. I think before I scrap everything, I'm going to try one last thing and that is keeping the layers that I have and just deleting the animation then recreating them. Another thing I'll do is record what I have, that way it'll be easier to recreate it. Even after all this and possibly other projects that I may do and it still doesn't work, I'll just reinstall Anime Studio Pro8.

before I did anything, I went back and tried exporting it again only 2 mins at a time using full frames(uncompressed). Result wasn't very good, the first 15 seconds showed something I can't quite describe; like scenes within scenes, however after that the video returned to normal. Then I exported the same 2 mins but this time using Microsoft Video 1 (compression quality: 75). the video had no problems only that the quality wasn't as good as it being uncompressed. Going to stick with this until I continue the other half of the animation.
