Image not visible in swf when attached to bone layer

Post by moorsel »

I've imported a .png image. Afterward I created a bone layer and made the layer with my imported png image a child of this layer. Whenever I export this file to swf, the image doesn't show in the exported file. When exported to quicktime the image shows up OK. What could I do wrong?

(using a jpg image had the same result)

Boned images cannot be exported to swf, mov and avi.

Read the manual and also search the forum before you post please.

Why such a picky reaction???

Actually I am doing tutorial 4.1, seems to me that this tutorial is what I want, nevertheless I cannot reproduce it with my own pictures.

Within this tutorial is stated that "An image layer in Moho contains a single image file that can be used as a background, or combined with a bone layer to build a character. Although they're called "Image" layers, an Image layer can also make use of a movie file as its source. Image layers and vector layers can be mixed and matched in the same project. "

At the end of this tutorial you can press play and then a movie starts to play, seems to me that me that this a flash movie.

Ah, don't let cribble put you off. He's already forgotten what it was like when he was a Moho newbie, and I think he's running low on caffeine or sugar or something.

Actually there are two ways of using bones and images in Moho.

1. Use the bones to "warp" the image. This is what cribble quite correctly said would not export to .swf (although they will export to .mov or .avi, which is why I think he's running low on something  ).

2. Using bones to move entire image layers around - as in Tutorial 4.1 - which should export to .swf. I suspect you have had trouble with the last step in the tutorial - "binding" the image layer to a bone. If this isn't done properly, you will see exactly what you have described - the image shows in .mov but not in .swf.

It isn't enough just to make the image layer a child of the bone, which is the first step in either warping or moving an image layer.

So you've either missed the next step - with the image layer selected, choose the bind layer tool and click on the bone - or the click on the bone wasn't picked up, which can apparently happen occasionally (I'm not sure if that's a user error, an OS error, or a Moho error) - the bone should turn red when you click on it, if it doesn't then the "bind layer" didn't work.

Regards, Myles.

I think it must be this one, I thought I clicked on the bone but apperently not good enough. A new attempt to make it work succeeded.

Thanx for the help.
