Hi all,
I used Carbon Copy Cloner to transfer my files to my new SSD drive. I installed it and when I go to open ASPro 10 it asks for my serial #s. So I entered them and it says "the max number of allowed activated computers for this serial # has been exceeded." I guess it thinks my new SSD (that replaced my old HD) is a different computer. The only other computer I have ASPro on is my 11"MB Air.
It gives me a web address to deactivate my computers but it doesn't work. Any ideas?
Thanks
Installed a new SSD drive and now AS won't work

Re: Installed a new SSD drive and now AS won't work
I don't have a guaranteed solution.
I had AS Pro installed on a main drive and swapped the drive for an SSD. I wanted a fresh boot drive installation built from scratch. Rather than removing and installing the drives first I built up the new drive content connecting it as an external drive first. Once that was fully tested I replaced the internal drive. I am still fine tuning the new drive. I can use either as a boot drive and the other drive becomes a virtual external that can be accessed to transfer, copy/paste data.
Using this approach I have a fully functional installation of AS Pro on both drives. Of course only the drive used as the boot drive can run its copy at a time. I did not deactivate the software at any point.
I would try thoroughly deleting the AS Pro installation and installing it fresh. This is very easy on a Mac. I don't know but I suspect an algorithm is detecting something different in hardware and is interpreting it as a different computer. Using a fresh installation on the new drive may be all that is necessary. NOTE: because I am still fine tuning my system I have not done any updating of registration information with my account online. You ought to be able to get an operational installation going without needing to update account information online. As I said, I have two installations working.
Good luck.

Tech support took care of it. Thank you so much Matt Ko! As my son would say, "U da man!"
