Hello,
Here is a ROUGH cut of a series idea I am working on.

Re: OUTER SPACE GIRLS SERIES
It's clear a lot of thought went into the story and the opening monologue is a bit dry but sets up the rest of the show pretty well.
I was crawling the walls waiting to see something else though. In two minutes there are only two shots. It was a bit tedious. Some visuals to go along with what was being said would have been marvelous.
I did like that the ship was designed like a giant bug.

Yeah. Even as a rough cut, it needs more variety. Instead of some narrator droning on about the heroine's history, what about showing some examples of trouble she is having in the present, interspersed with commentary. Nobody would sit through a long narration like this in the cinema with just two shots -- they'd be asking for their money back.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
Re: OUTER SPACE GIRLS SERIES
Thanks for your thoughts. It is ROUGH as I stated. I am currently seeking a team to help make it better.
Re: OUTER SPACE GIRLS SERIES
I have one question. Please don't take this the wrong way, but if talented people are going to be working for you (presumably for nothing), what can you give them -- apart from promises? In your "Animators Wanted" post, you make it pretty clear that all the initial ideas being worked on will be yours. So, not so much a team, more a group of workers toiling to realise your vision without pay. It's possible, I guess, just not probable...

You lost me at that firefly spaceship very similar to the one in Lexx while constantly nagging with that copyright notice.

Oh, darn! I've been meaning to find and watch that series. I was too busy watching Xena, Farscape, Andromeda, etc... back then so I had NO idea that show used a dragonfly spaceship. Back to the drawing board because the ship does look too similar.slowtiger wrote:You lost me at that firefly spaceship very similar to the one in Lexx while constantly nagging with that copyright notice.

It would not be "promises" only. As mentioned, a contract would be made. Profits would be shared. True, everyone would work for free at first including me. And only in their spare time so as not to interfere with their regular jobs. I'm assuming no one on here or Craigslist has hit it big to where they are making an actual living animating as a full time job and are able to charge an arm and a leg upfront. I am assuming that no one who would browse these outlets looking for work, is Disney or Pixar. Cause those studios started at the bottom and made it big and do not have to go looking around online for an animation gig. Those studios can charge and get paid upfront. The problem with aspiring artists these days is they are all about the money before they have even met any real achievement. Artists these days don't want to "toil" away on an idea they believe in and see it through to success and THEN get paid. And this is why most artists won't make it in the industry unless they get lucky enough to land a job at Disney or Pixar. But even then they are still working for someone else's studio and not their own. I want to be the female Walt Disney one day. But I am willing to start from the bottom as I should before I get there. I suppose I am looking for fellow "starving" artists who are willing to starve first and get rich later. But if you are a big time animation company send me your link anyway and let me see what you got going on. I have a tiny bit of money saved. Maybe I will pay you upfront if your works make me feel comfortable that you can help me realize my vision.jahnocli wrote:I have one question. Re: OUTER SPACE GIRLS SERIES
I would think maybe a whole storyboarding outline would be the first step before even getting crowd funding. Also tell people about yourself personally. I look at the comic book thingy you made and its kind of neurotic with heavy gender issues. I would suggest putting a man in place of every character of the women and see if it still can play out. If the character you have in mind only works as a women, then I would suggest going back and work on the character. The character need to have deeper motivation, then just be a super strong female character. Most of the marvel character are strong, but they have their own motivation driven issues and vulnerability. People like humility and vulnerability, it ground them as someone they can relate to.
