Thanks for the positive feedback. I have to say I like your video clips as well you do a good job. The short I made is part of a 12 minute cartoon I posted on youtube a few days ago, and I wanted to get some advice on how to apply dialog in a cartoon without it sounding off. If you can watch the cartoon and give me some advice I would really appreciate it. In a few days Im going to take the cartoon down and try to work on it some more. Im new to anything animation and am learning as I go, so I really can use some advice. I've been using a microphone to record the dialog, and I dont like the results. You do a good job with your audio. What do you record with and with what software? The cartoon I made is very random, but to me its entertaining and it moves along very fast. Again if you can check it out and give me some advise I would really appreciate it. This is the link: http://youtu.be/poYWlzvxh_8

I use a pretty good microphone from a company called Shure. I remember paying $40 for it. So it's not like a pro mic or anything but it is several steps above the common desktop microphone. Also I use Audacity to mix the audio. It's free and has great noise reduction tools.

OK, I watched both videos and I will say that at exactly no point did I have any idea what was going on in the slightest. "Random" doesn't do this justice, it's all over the map.
That said, it was hilarious. The animation is far from polished but in many ways it lends to the jumpy random quality of the action. Also, I was a little worried when the second video pulled up at 12 minutes long, but it never felt like it was that long. The only part that dragged was the scene at the track, even with a Ghostbuster sneaking in.
Several things made me laugh throughout, the subtle gags in the background were all great. If you trimmed down the running time you would get more viewers because people wouldn't get turned off by the length, but otherwise this is genuinely funny stuff.

Thank you for you for taking the time to check out the videos, and for your suggestions. I have to ask how long would you make the videos if you were me, and should the videos be short clips or short complete story cartoons?
Re: A short color to black and white fight scene
This feel more like just one more anti Hardware/Bomb Store propaganda video to me.
JK. I liked it.

Re: A short color to black and white fight scene
You can do both: make each video 2 - 3 minutes but as a part of a larger story. That way they're short enough for the average internet idiot AND they keep people wanting more so they know how the story ends. Win/win!Thomasfreehold wrote:should the videos be short clips or short complete story cartoons?
