I am currently still using Anime Studio Pro 8, I bought it over a year ago, I seen the improvements of Pro 9, 9.5 and 10, there are some really cool new features, but I'm not sure if I want to spend 199$ upgrading from Pro 8.
Should I spend the extra money and upgrade to Pro 10 or should I stick with Pro 8 for now?

There is nothing wrong with AS 8, but going to AS 9 will only cost 73 dollars.

Is AS 10 worth the price of 200? when you can do animation in AS 8. Yes and no. Yes, if your using it every day and need to save time and some aggravation. AS 9 is a big leap over AS 8 and AS 10 has some really cool features that 9 doesn't have.
In the software world companies add new features and try to resell the same product. A good example of this is Adobe reader. But with each version of AS you get useful tools to help in animation.

Re: Upgrading From Pro 8 to Pro 10
When to upgrade should be based on specific factors such as:
Budget
Current project status
Training
etc.
All of these and other items can have effects on each of the other other items.
If you are in the middle of a project with an established work flow that involves other people already trained and the budget is already set, then DO NOT UPGRADE. The budget already covers costs that may or may not be offset or improved by new features. You could change the entire workflow to save or make more money but this could also cost much more money in training.
For example, an update purchased now may cost less but does not need to be implemented. Nothing changes the current project but you got an update at the new possibly cheaper price. The workflow remains the same. No downtime to train and update the workflow.

Re: Upgrading From Pro 8 to Pro 10
The only big problem I have with Pro 8 is the Windows 8.1 compatibility, most features work, but when I use physics, it crashes, for the most part ASP8 is just fine, so I don't think I'll be upgrading this year, when ASP10's price lowers down to about 50$ or lower, I might.
